Kanji Dungeon Support

Kanji Dungeon is a game for iOS and Android where you explore a dungeon and guess the kanji. Every dungeon is shaped like a Japanese kanji character: walk its corridors, picture the shape, and pick the right character from look-alikes. No Japanese needed — you guess by shape. Please check the FAQ below or contact us.

FAQ

Q. How do I play?

Drag on the lower half of the screen to walk. Explore the corridors to picture the shape, then tap a character from the choices and tap the confirm button (決定) to answer. Use the open button (開ける) to go through a door to a separate stroke. The in-game text is in Japanese for now; English is coming in a future update.

Q. Do I need to read Japanese?

No. You never have to read the kanji. You guess it by its shape.

Q. What happens when my steps run out?

You lose a heart and get a different kanji on the same floor. The run ends when you run out of hearts or give a wrong answer. Standing still to think does not use any steps.

Q. What is "Watch an ad to continue" (広告を見て続ける)?

When your run ends, you can watch an ad to the end once per run to continue with one heart from a different kanji on the same floor.

Q. Is my play data sent anywhere?

We do not send your play data to our servers. For data used to show ads, please see the privacy policy.

Q. Where does the kanji data come from?

Stroke order and stroke count data: KanjiVG by Ulrich Apel, licensed under CC BY-SA 3.0.
