Furigana Memo Privacy Policy

Applies to: Furigana Memo — com.x91932.furiganamemo
Effective: September 8, 2026
Last updated: September 17, 2026

QuickServe Inc. ("we", "us") sets out below how user information is handled in Furigana Memo (the "App"), our note-taking app for adding furigana (ruby text) to text (this "Policy").

1. Company information (data controller)

Where the GDPR or similar laws apply, QuickServe Inc. is the data controller for the App.

2. Scope and authoritative version

This Policy applies only to the App. Our other apps are covered by our common app privacy policy. This document is independent of the privacy policy on our corporate website. The Japanese version of this Policy is authoritative; if there is any discrepancy with a translation, the Japanese version prevails.

3. Information the App stores on your device

The App can be used without creating an account, and we do not directly collect your name, email address or similar information. The data below is stored only in a database on your device and is never sent to our servers. We cannot access this data.

DataSourcePurpose
Memos (title, body text, created/updated timestamps, pinned status, deletion status)Entered by youDisplaying, editing, searching, sorting and trash management for memos
Manual ruby (furigana you add to a selected range of text in a memo)Entered by youDisplaying furigana in that memo and converting it on export
Folder structureEntered by youOrganizing and listing memos
Word groups (word-and-reading pairs registered as a furigana dictionary)Entered by youAdding furigana automatically
Assignment of word groups to foldersYour actions in the AppManaging which folders receive automatic furigana from which word groups
App settings (theme, font size, display language, sort order, ruby-notation export format, PDF export options, etc.)Your actions in the AppRetaining your display and behavior preferences
Premium status (whether you have purchased premium, and the expiry of a reward obtained by watching a video ad)Generated by the AppHiding ads and providing the PDF export feature (Sections 5 and 7)
Operation log (an internal log file)Generated by the AppA record you can inspect yourself if a problem occurs. It is never sent to us

You can delete this data through actions in the App (deleting memos, folders or word groups, etc.), and uninstalling the App removes it from your device. Content you enter — memo titles and body text, furigana, folder names and so on — is never sent to the third-party SDKs described in Section 4.

4. Information collected and transmitted by third-party SDKs

The App uses the following third-party SDKs for advertising and quality improvement. These SDKs automatically collect the information below and transmit it to servers operated by Google LLC and its affiliates ("Google").

SDKMain information collectedPurpose
Google AdMob
(ad serving)
Advertising ID (iOS: IDFA / Android: Advertising ID; collected only where permitted by OS settings, applicable law, and your consent choices), ad impression and interaction events, IP address (including approximate location estimation), device information (model, OS version, etc.)Serving ads, measuring ad performance, fraud prevention
Firebase Crashlytics
(crash reporting)
Crash logs, diagnostic information, installation UUID, device, OS and app version informationAnalyzing defects, improving stability
* Active only in store-distributed builds
Firebase Analytics
(usage analytics)
Identifiers such as the app instance ID, screen views and counts of feature usage (PDF export, ruby-notation export and import, manual ruby, obtaining a reward by watching a video ad), device and OS information, approximate region based on IP addressImproving the App through usage analysis
* Disabled by default (Section 9)

Firebase Analytics records only predefined screen names, feature names and their counts. Text you enter, such as memo content or the contents of word groups, is never included in these events.

When you contact us, we collect your contact details (such as name and email address), the content of your inquiry, and, where necessary, device/OS information, for the purpose of responding to your inquiry. This information is deleted after a reasonable period following the completion of our response.

5. Advertising in the App

The App displays a banner ad on the memo list, memo editor, word group and settings screens. In addition, you may choose to watch a video ad (a rewarded ad); doing so hides ads and unlocks the PDF export feature for 24 hours. Watching is entirely optional, and all other features of the App remain fully available if you do not.

In place of a Google AdMob ad, the banner slot may show a promotion for one of our other apps. Such a promotion only displays information we have prepared (app name, description, icon and a link to the store) and involves no collection or transmission of information about you.

Ads are served by Google AdMob. The advertising providers Google uses as partners are listed in Google's ad technology providers. Personalized advertising is carried out only in accordance with applicable law and your consent or permission choices (iOS ATT, and the consent form in the EEA and the UK). Where consent or permission has not been given, non-personalized (limited) ads that do not use the advertising ID are served instead.

6. External transmission

The only data the App transmits externally without action by you is the third-party SDK information described in Section 4. We operate no server of our own, and your memo content is never sent to us.

In addition, to show the promotions for our other apps described in Section 5, the App periodically retrieves the promotion information (app name, description and icon) from our website (qkserve.github.io, hosted on GitHub Pages operated by GitHub, Inc.). As with viewing any web page, connection information such as your IP address reaches GitHub's servers during this retrieval; we do not collect or store it, and none of your activity or memo content is transmitted.

The "share", "export" and "PDF export" features only pass the converted text or file to the OS share sheet (the screen where you choose a destination app); whether and where it is sent from there is entirely your own choice and action. We never receive the content of anything you share or export.

7. In-app purchase

The App offers a one-time (non-consumable) in-app purchase, "premium", which permanently removes ads and unlocks the PDF export feature. Payment is processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play, and we never receive your credit card number or other payment details. Your purchase status is stored on your device; after changing devices or reinstalling, you can restore it through your store account from "Settings > Premium > Restore purchases". Purchase history, refunds and related matters are handled in accordance with the privacy policies and terms of the respective store providers (Apple / Google).

8. How backups are handled

The App has no cloud-sync or backup feature of its own. On Android, automatic backup is disabled, so the App's data is not backed up to Google's servers. On iOS, if your device's iCloud Backup is enabled, a copy of the App's data may be stored on Apple's servers and restored when you reinstall. This copy remains even after you delete the App, so please remove it from your iOS backup settings if you no longer need it. If we add our own cloud-sync or backup feature in the future, we will revise this Policy and post a notice on this page.

9. Managing consent / opting out

10. Provision to third parties

We do not provide collected information to third parties, except as required by law and except for transmission to the external service providers described in this Policy (Google and Apple).

Information transmitted through the SDKs described in Section 4 is handled by Google in accordance with its privacy policy. Depending on the nature of the processing, Google may process the information as an independent controller.

11. International data transfers

The destinations of the SDK transmissions described in Section 4 include Google servers located in the United States and other countries outside Japan. Google implements appropriate safeguards, including compliance with the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs). Details of transfer destinations and safeguards are available in "Privacy and Security in Firebase" linked above. The on-device data described in Section 3 is not subject to any such transfer.

12. Additional information for users in the EEA and the UK (GDPR / UK GDPR)
